Shanghai offers both scheduled small-group courses and university semesters. The meaningful comparison is the actual weekly teaching time, your available start date and the level the school can place you in.

GoEast describes four-week course blocks. ECNU’s documented intensive intake is a spring 2027 semester with 45-minute class periods. They are different study commitments, even though both use the word intensive.

Confirm the campus in your offer. Providers can operate multiple teaching sites, and an office address is not always your classroom address.

Questions to ask before choosing

• Is there a confirmed class for my level and start date?
• How many minutes are in a lesson, and how many students are in the group?
• What is the full tuition, including mandatory fees and materials?
• Which teaching site will I attend, and what are the cancellation terms?
